How do I find a DEX that actually has the token I hold

You use a token that the DEX you're on right now does not list. The only reliable way to find a DEX that has it is to look up the token's contract address on a block explorer, then check which decentralized exchanges have created a liquidity pool for that exact contract.

You send from your own wallet straight to the exchanger — nothing to connect, no account, and you stay on this page throughout. Rates are indicative until a swap is opened.

The swap is carried out by an independent exchanger and the deposit address above is theirs. lowcap.xyz never holds, receives or controls your funds, has no key to that address, and earns a referral commission. Opening a swap sends your receiving address, IP, browser and timezone to the exchanger for their compliance checks; we store none of it. Check their terms, fees and country restrictions before sending anything.

Here is why the obvious answers fail.

Searching by name is unreliable. Many tokens share names or symbols. A "PEPE" on one chain is not the same as a "PEPE" on another, and there are dozens of imitations on the same chain. Searching by name will often show you a different token entirely, or show you nothing because the DEX's search index is incomplete.

The token's own website or social media is the most common source of misinformation. Scam tokens post fake DEX links. Legitimate low-cap tokens change their liquidity pools without updating their documentation. Even a well-known memecoin may have moved its primary trading pair to a newer DEX and left the old one with zero depth.

The correct method is:

  1. Copy the token's contract address from your wallet or from the transaction where you received it. Do not trust a screenshot or a text someone sends you in a chat. Verify the address character by character, or use a block explorer to pull the address from a confirmed on-chain transaction.

  2. Paste that address into a block explorer for that chain (Etherscan for Ethereum, BscScan for BNB Smart Chain, Solscan for Solana, and so on). Every block explorer has a "Token" or "Token Tracker" tab.

  3. On the token's page in the block explorer, look for a section labeled "Pairs," "Markets," "Liquidity Pools," or "DEX Trades." This section lists every liquidity pool that exists for that exact contract address. It will show you the DEX name (like Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Raydium) and the pair (usually the token paired against a stablecoin or wrapped native coin).

  4. If you see multiple pools, check the liquidity depth of each. The block explorer usually shows the total value locked in each pool. Skip any pool with less than a few thousand dollars of liquidity if you are swapping more than pocket change.

  5. Open the DEX that has the pool with the highest liquidity. Connect your wallet. Select the token by its contract address again - do not rely on the DEX's search bar to find it. Paste the address directly into the token selection field.

If no DEX shows a pool for your token on the block explorer, the token has no active trading pair. It may be a dead project, a token that was never listed on any DEX, or a token that has been abandoned by its liquidity providers. In that case, you cannot swap it through any DEX. Your only option is to use a peer-to-peer swap with someone who wants that specific token, or to accept that the token has become effectively illiquid.

Why this happens with memecoins specifically

Memecoins are created rapidly, often on low-liquidity launchpads. A token that trades on one DEX for a few hours may never appear on any other DEX. The token's community may have moved to a different DEX after the first one was abandoned. And many memecoin projects create fake liquidity pools that exist for minutes before being drained.

If you are trying to swap out of a memecoin and cannot find a DEX with a real pool, the hub page titled Swapping in and out of memecoins explains what to do when the token has no viable exit route.

A final practical note

Some wallets and swap aggregators claim to find the best DEX automatically. They rely on the same data you just looked up manually - the block explorer's pair list. If an aggregator tells you "no route found," it means no DEX has a pool for that contract address. The aggregator is not wrong. It is telling you the token cannot be moved through any DEX.
